OpenLives ready for 2012

All has been quiet here for a while…on this blog, that is – the OpenLIVES project has well-and-truly kicked off with several meetings (actual and virtual) between all project partners to plan our activities. At the moment, we are preoccupied with transcribing (and translating in some cases) the raw research data (the oral testimony from Spanish migrants), editing it, converting it to MP3 and generally preparing it for publication.

These preparations will include adding licensing information to each file and dividing up materials into useful sections for ease of use.

New technical features are now on the HumBox repository: a feature allowing the creation of groups – we have set up an OpenLIVES group – and a discussion forum. We will embed usage of these into the project from 2012.

Happy Christmas!
